Happy New Year! 2024 came in with a BANG, literally with fireworks going off all over the valley and the excitement of the ball dropping in Times Square. What will 2024 bring? I have no idea, but I am optimistic about the possibilities.
A few changes will be rolling out in the City in 2024, including a new City app to keep information and news at your fingertips. There will be more information coming soon about that to keep you in the know. We will also be changing the City web address from a “.org” to a “.gov” as required by state law. Our commercial zone will be seeing a few new businesses pop up including Lehi Bakery. As a donut fanatic, I am thrilled!
“The only constant in life is change.” - Heraclitus
We make resolutions each new year to hopefully change things for the better in our lives. Last year I made a resolution to do the splits by the end of the year. Well, I did not get there, but I did do a cartwheel!
Accept incremental change as achievements, and don’t ever give up. Norman Vincent Peale said, “Change your thoughts and you change your world.” This is especially true in today’s society when so much is in constant flux. There is so much that is out of our control in the world around us, but we don’t need to get swept up in the turmoil. Stay positive, keep on keeping on. We cannot stop progress and change, but we can change our attitudes about it.
Let’s make 2024 the year that we resolve to follow Mary Engelbreit’s advice that says, “If you don’t like something, change it; if you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.”
